Seven of the eight matched a NYSDEC pesticide business registration in the state’s NYSPAD database when we looked them up on October 25, 2026. One, Nassau County Pest Control Clean in Port Washington, did not turn up under that name, so its card says not checked yet.

Registration renewals for Nassau companies

NYSDEC staggers renewal dates by region. Nassau falls in Region 1, where business registrations expire on October 31 of the renewal year, and renewals are due at least 45 days earlier. Each location registers on its own, so the address in NYSPAD should match the office serving you. Our guide to checking a pest control company walks through the lookup.

What Nassau County handles itself

Mosquitoes start as a county job. The Department of Public Works checks and treats thousands of street basins, sumps and ponds and hundreds of miles of freshwater streams, keeps south shore ditches open so fish can eat mosquito larvae, and runs aerial larvicide over uninhabited salt marsh on the south shore. The Health Department traps mosquitoes at 44 sites and sends them to the state for virus testing. To report standing water or a mosquito problem, call the Mosquito Control Unit at (516) 571-6900.

Nassau’s mosquito program says it follows integrated pest management, with spraying for adult mosquitoes reserved for when a public health threat is close and other methods have not worked. A private yard treatment is a separate service you would hire on your own.

Lawn and yard spraying near your neighbors

Nassau is one of the counties NYSDEC lists as having adopted the state’s neighbor notification law. For many commercial lawn applications, the company has to give neighbors at least 48 hours of written notice, in English and Spanish, and post markers. Granular products, horticultural soaps and oils, spot treatments and injections are among the exemptions. DEC notes that local laws may differ from the state law, so call the county to confirm the current rules.
